Economic Strengthening, Climate Resilient and Livelihoods Programme
Entrepreneurship for women is crucial because it drives economic growth, fosters innovation through diverse perspectives, empowers women financially and socially, creates jobs and leads to significant community investment in health and education, creating a powerful ripple effect for a more inclusive and prosperous society. Supporting female entrepreneurs helps close gender gaps, reduces poverty and builds more resilient, human-centered economies.
PriCHO establishes and builds the capacity of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) members with entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy and record keeping, while integrating digital tools to increase their chances of creating job opportunities.
Introduced drought-resistant seed varieties, agroecology techniques (intercropping, organic manure), to improve soil health and water management.
To reduce reliance on risky agriculture, PriCHO is supporting skills training for off-farm activities, including poultry rearing, handicrafts, and small-scale trading.
The interventions focus on building practical skills, financial inclusion and resilience for women and youth engaged in informal and small-scale economic activities. This action is aimed at increasing their chances of creating job opportunities and improving their household incomes.
PriCHO delivers these interventions in languages that are appropriate to ensure relevance and understanding. These digital pathways improve efficiency, transparency, savings behaviour and connections to broader economic opportunities.
